How to Get to Steel Institute VDEh

… by Car

Address:

VDEh Steel Institute, Sohnstr. 65, 40237 Düsseldorf

If you’re coming from the south, east, or north, we recommend taking the A3; if you’re coming from the west, take the A52 from Mönchengladbach. Free visitor parking is available right at the Steel Center.

From the A3, take the Mettmann exit toward Düsseldorf, then follow Bergische Landstraße (B7), which merges into Ludenberger Straße after several kilometers. At Stauffenplatz, leave the B7 and follow Grafenberger Allee toward the city center. After about one kilometer, turn right onto Sohnstraße at McDonald’s. After about 500 m, you’ll find the Stahl-Zentrum on your right.

Coming from the left bank of the Rhine via the A52, follow the B7 and drive over the Theodor-Heuss-Brücke to the “Mörsenbroicher Ei,” then continue along Heinrichstraße (B7) toward Grafenberg. (You can also reach the “Mörsenbroicher Ei” if you’re coming from the north on the A52 or B1.) After about one kilometer, turn right onto Graf-Recke-Straße, then left at the next traffic light onto Fritz-Wüst-Straße, which then becomes Sohnstraße. Here you’ll find the Stahl-Zentrum on the left.

… by plane

You’ll land at Düsseldorf International Airport. From there, we recommend taking a taxi directly to us (travel time approx. 15 minutes) or the S-Bahn (S11) to the main train station. Then take bus line 834 toward Belsenplatz. Get off at “Sohnstraße.”

… by train

At the main station, take bus line 834 toward Belsenplatz and ride for about 10 minutes to the “Sohnstraße” stop, which is located directly in front of the Stahl-Zentrum. The bus runs every 10 minutes during the day.

Note: Currently, bus line 834 only runs as far as Theodor-Heuss-Brücke. Please pay attention to the signs on the bus. However, it does stop at Sohnstraße.
